Carolyn discovered the benefits of a regular yoga practice in 1998. Drawn to yoga for stress relief, she quickly found that reducing stress was only half the story. Coming from a family with a history of weight gain, diabetes, and high blood pressure among other ailments, yoga became a way for Carolyn to proactively manage her health. Along the way, she discovered a passion for the science of yoga and a talent for sharing the benefits yoga has to offer. After an almost 20 year career in corporate accounting and finance, Carolyn chose to make her passion her work and received her first teaching certification in 2006. Carolyn’s interest in therapeutic yoga arose out of her experiences working with her students over the years. Recognizing a “one size fits all” approach is not appropriate for every body, she began studying Body Balance Yoga in 2012. Carolyn’s aim is to help her students reclaim their natural vigor and vitality through a safe and effective yoga practice. Her classes focus on reducing chronic tension, improving normal range of motion in the joints and strengthening the musculature of the body so that all bodily systems are functioning optimally. Students can expect to be warmly welcomed and fully supported in class with Carolyn. Her style of teaching is lively and fun. She encourages each student to listen and respect the messages of their body, guiding them to greater alignment of body, mind and spirit.

Shortly after her first studio classes, Tracy found herself returning to yoga for relaxation and stress reduction. She kept showing up on her mat and somewhere along the way, the practice transformed her. Having completed her 200-hour and 500-hour with Jenny Otto's teacher training, then apprenticing extensively with Jenny Otto and assisting in the Body Balance Yoga Trainings, Tracy's studies are steeped in the Body Balance Yoga tradition. Teaching since 2009, Tracy is honored to be able to share her passion for yoga with others and her love of the practice. With a background in different styles of yoga, her teaching is inspired by Iyengar and Vinyasa with a strong focus on therapeutics — guided by the incomparable teachings of her biggest influence, teacher and mentor, Jenny Otto.
